What is an average intensive program day like? |
There are input sessions, three mornings a week, during which you learn classroom management, how to teach grammar, and other practical aspects of the course. Towards the end of the course, you will put this learning into practice by delivering lessons to students to apply lesson planning skills. Our goal is to provide 6 to 10 hours of observed teaching practice over the six weeks. In addition, there is also time that must be spent preparing materials and completing various assignments. During the course you will learn a little of another language using the same techniques as you will use to teach English, so you can experience how your learners feel and help you to design more effective lessons. |
How many students on average are in the program each month? |
On average we have about ten trainees enrolled in each course, although this is an average and it may be more or less. The maximum number of students is 15. Most of our participants
are from English-speaking countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, or Australia. We do accept non-native speakers of English who have a high proficiency in the language. |
What are the teaching practice students and classes like? |
We use local non-English-speaking students for the trainees' teaching practice. Our students are very keen and enthusiastic and come to classes purely because they
want to! |
You can if you like. However, there are a number of Internet facilities available. All computers have Internet access, which you can use to check your email. |
When do I need to start looking for work? Where do I start? |
We suggest you begin setting up interviews and sending resumes in the second or third week of the course after we have covered job-related matters during input sessions. |
